Kurt Walter Stock was born in Berlin, Germany, on November 30th, 1920.
On finishing high school he was drafted into the German Army. His infantry division saw service in Norway and Finland, where he was wounded twice. In 1945 the remnants of his division made its last stand in Germany. Kurt Stock was captured and spent the next four years in Russian P.O.W. camps--which is the story told in this book. This is a true story. All the names have been changed except for the author's.
